Established at the beginning of the Meiji era, this unagi eatery draws customers from afar. Obana certainly has charm, with its sizeable Japanese-style gate, premises that are home to an inari shrine and some gorgeous traditional architecture. Step inside to a large tatami mat space, where you'll be sitting very close to your many fellow diners. Choose from three different portions of eel priced at ¥4,000, ¥4,300 and ¥5,300. Each meal is made to order, so be prepared for a 30-minute wait before it reaches your table.
