Who said a hair salon couldn't expand into the coffee shop business? Shimokitazawa's Acotto is doing just that with this tiny new opener, operating out of a shack just a few minutes' walk from the station. The biggest draw here is the cupcake selection, with around ten varieties of pastel-coloured treats available at all times, while caffeine addicts will appreciate the speciality coffees, made with beans from Sangenjaya's famed Obscura. The competition in the area is certainly tough, but On The Way looks poised to quickly carve out a niche for itself.
