Winter in Tokyo brings good news for seafood-biased gourmands: in addition to generally better-tasting fish (thanks to the added layers of fat needed to stay warm in the chilly waters), the cold season is also the best time to sample shellfish like oysters. The oyster huts (kakigoya) popping up all over the city are where to get a taste of the delicacy, and this one on the roof of Asakusa's Ekimise is one of the nicer spots out there. 60-minute all-you-can-eat barbecue sessions cost ¥3,680 (including the ¥200 charcoal charge) and come with impressive views of the Skytree.
