After building a strong following in Higashi-Nakano – hardly the most obvious of locations – this affordably priced pizzeria upped and moved to Kichijoji in 2010. Its new digs, in a basement just off the main approach to Inokashira Park, aren't quite as pokey as the old place was, and they're arranged in such a way that all the tables have a view of the kitchen and its imposing oven. Thankfully, the little touches that made the old Pizzeria GG so much fun are still intact, from the menu's illustrations of a gorilla demonstrating how to eat your pie, to the cheap 'n cheerful antipasti and unorthodox toppings like the Americano (fries and wieners) and triangle-shaped, three-colour Scudetto (spinach, mozzarella and cheery tomatoes – it's the Italian flag, geddit?). Prices are reasonable without any obvious recourse to corner-cutting, and you can easily eat for under ¥3,000 a head at dinner.
