Hailing from Santa Monica, The Counter boasts that it's made over a million custom burgers since its founding in 2003, and is now adding to that tally: the brand's first Japan branch, The Counter Roppongi, is located on the basement floor of Midtown and offers relief to local patty-munchers hard hit by the 2016 closing of Baker Bounce. The ordering system at Counter is a long, long list of choices: you're able to pick exactly what type of patty, cheese, sauce and topping you'd like from a myriad of options. In short, great for picky eaters but the worst nightmare of anyone with a problem making decisions. You can customise your burger from an Epic Mealtime-reminiscent incarnation down to one that uses veggies instead of a bun. To make life slightly easier, they very kindly also list a signature burger series, from which you can simply choose one and get on with your day.
