Time Out says

Opens January 22

This fancy new Adidas store in Harajuku is all about sustainability, using energy-efficient LED lights in its store and promoting recycling initiatives. You can shop for footwear, apparel and accessories in the Adidas originals, Stella McCartney and outdoor collections, as well as gear for running, basketball, skateboard and more.

The three-floor shop is decked out to fit in with Harajuku’s internationally famous style. You’ll even find wall murals in the basement and on the second floor created collaboratively by local artists including Hi-dutch (Takahiro Hida) and Plantica (Tadahisa Ohkuri).

The store also has Japan’s very first sneaker cleaning service by Adidas, and the best part is it’s free. The free express clean will get any dirt and grime off the surface of your shoes. But if you want deeper cleaning, you can pay for the basic (¥2,200) or premium (¥3,300, ¥3,000 for AdiClub members) cleaning options, which will make your old shoes as good as new. There’s also a free water station on the first floor where you can refill your bottle while shopping or even if you pass by on a run around the neighbourhood.
