Aeon Mall Makuhari Shintoshin

Opened by the Chiba bayshore in late 2013, this massive shopping heaven (or hell, depending on your attitude) is the Aeon group's flagship and houses a whopping 350 shops, a multiplex movie theatre, a branch theatre of the Yoshimoto comedy empire, a bouldering gym, a running track and much much more. Visiting by car is recommended – the mall is a good 20-minute walk from the closest station, and carrying your bounty all the way back after a hard day's shop might be too much of a challenge.
