All-natural cosmetics, soap and bath salts are the domain of Lalitpur, a Japanese-Nepalese company known for using Himalayan herbs and other local ingredients in its fully organic wares. Founder Mai Mukaida has made it her mission to help out the many Nepalese women forced to live in shelters: she works together with them in order to further their economic independence and encourages their full participation in society. Opened in November in the backstreets of Harajuku, Lalitpur's first permanent shop carries the brand's entire line of products – many of which make for great gifts.
