Splurging on dinner at Robuchon apprentice and globetrotting star chef Dominique Bouchet's Tokyo restaurant – which took home two stars in the latest edition of Michelin's Tokyo guide – used to be a prerequisite for savouring head pâtissier Atsushi Hatae's jewellery-like petits gâteaux. But the city's cash-strapped sweets fiends are finally about to get some relief: these artistic desserts can soon be picked up at this Shinjuku pop-up, and at reasonable prices to boot. Prices for individual mini-cakes start at around ¥200 while a five-pack of Hatae's finest creations can be had for ¥1,800.
