Building on the legacy of the nearby Red Brick Warehouse, the bayside Minato Mirai area got another old-new centre of retail and culture in spring 2016. Utilising some of the aged brick warehouses still left on the waterfront, Marine & Walk is a multi-structure 'open mall' with attractive ocean views, narrow alleyways and faux-19th century décor – all of which sounds great in theory, but we're a little worried about how comfy the spot will feel when cold winds start sweeping in from the sea during winter. Tenants include LA clothing retailer Fred Segal, Amsterdam-born denim brand Denham and longtime Bay Area Cal-Italian favourite A16, plus Hawaiian eatery Kaka'ako.
