Lovers of sweet spuds should make a beeline for this new cake spot, opened at the first floor of Shinjuku’s popular shopping mall Lumine Est. The name might not be a dead giveaway, but this place does some rather unothodox sweet potato pies – take every idea you ever had about a sweet potato pie, throw it out of the window and put a triangle-shaped one in its place. They've essentially channelled a chunky sweet potato wedge and reimagined it as a baked good for sweet tooths. But hey, if it works, it works. The crunchy pie at the bottom, the soft and flaky baked potato paste outside and the melty potato cream inside make this triangular goodie a great snack to-go. If you’re craving ice cream instead, then give their sweet potato soft serve ice cream a try, enhanced with chunks of pie for a chewy texture.
