Tsukiji Shouro Honten is a neighbourhood favourite known for its delectable tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette). The shop has been around since 1924, initially specialising in sushi before switching to tamagoyaki. Ahead of its 100-year anniversary, the Tsukiji Shuoro is looking to reinvent itself yet again with this new outpost.
Only a three-minute walk away from the main store is the brand's first ever takeout dessert shop Tsukiji Shouro Matsuro. True to form, it has a lineup of modern desserts all featuring – you guessed it – eggs. Just like the main branch, the key ingredient here comes from Toji no Tamago in Ibaraki, a trusted egg farm the shop has been working with for over 40 years.
Try the speciality custard pudding made with Madagascar vanilla beans, which comes with a side of soupe anglaise sauce. Or go for a soft cream puff filled with custard and whipped cream that are kept separate in the pastry to give it a fuller flavour. Then wash it all down with a decadent milkshake thickened with cream and white chocolate. Everything is made fresh, so if you're thinking of getting something as a gift for a friend, make sure to deliver it fast.
