A shopping street developed during the opening of Yokohama Port in 1859. The main street with a total length of 600 metres is lined with about 230 stores dealing with high quality products, such as the leather bag store Kitamura, or the accessory shop Star Jewelry with an adjoining café space. Venture out to the back streets as well, which are lined with cozy cafés and restaurants.
