Time Out says

A brand-new non-verbal stage production by Broadway director FyZ and producer/actor Miki Mizuno is set to debut this September at none other than Tokyo’s historic Kanda Shrine. The inaugural production of a recently established theatre company, ‘Sekigahara – Ishizu no Hibiki’ blends the old with the new, with a striking fusion of Japanese mythology, history and modern dance. Expect to see intense sword battles, hip-hop dancing by evil demons to the sound of a beatbox, and parkour by ninja assassins.

Set in the Warring States period (mid-15th to early 17th century), a time of political turmoil when feudal lords battled against each other in the absence of a centralised authority, the play offers a dramatic glimpse into the lives of three iconic warlords: Mitsunari Ishida, Yoshitsugu Otani and Ieyasu Tokugawa. You’ll be able to witness the samurai heroes’ complex relationships, emotional conflicts and evolving strategies as they navigate the chaos of civil war. All of this unfolds to the beat of Japanese instrumental music played by a live band.
