Bird Wantching in Mt. Takao

Join fellow bird enthusiasts to experience the joys of bird watching with the Takao Bird Watching Society, a division of the Tokyo chapter of the Wild Bird Society of Japan who meet on the fourth Sunday of every month. Through October and November the group hope to spot birds such as joubitaki (Daurian Redstart), tsugumi (Naumann’s Thrush) and kogera (Pygmy Woodpecker). Attendees are asked to bring lunch, something to drink, shoes appropriate for light mountain climbing, rainwear and, if they have it, bird viewing equipment such as a pair of binoculars or a portable telescope. Applications and enquires: Wild Bird Society of Japan (Tokyo).
