Head to Tokyo Square Garden on July 30 and 31 for a leisurely afternoon filled with city pop music. The free event is part of the ‘Art in Music: City Pop Graphics’ exhibition (until August 14), which gathers around 300 album covers and designs that were popular during the ’70s and ’80s, when city pop music was all the rage.
This weekend of good vibes will feature a host of classic city pop hits played by famous local DJs including Sakatak, Kaneko Hideshi, DJ Notoya and more. On Saturday the 30th there’s a talk session (4pm and 7pm) with city pop cover illustrator Hiroshi Nagai – you might even have a chance to get his autograph if you purchase his artworks or merchandise.
