You may have heard of the so-called Diamond Fuji, a rare phenomenon that occurs when the sunset or sunrise align perfectly with the highest peak of Mt Fuji. Ikebukuro’s Sunshine 60 Observatory Sky Circus hosts annual events with viewings of this breathtaking scene, but this year will be a little different – instead of Mt Fuji, we’ll be getting a Diamond Skytree instead.
Spend an evening at Sunshine City Prince Hotel and wake up early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the sunrise directly over the tip of Tokyo Skytree. This special event is only open for bookings on two nights this year: October 17 (sunrise on October 18) and October 19 (sunrise on October 20). Each date is open to just 25 people, so it’s best to book early.
The Diamond Skytree package costs ¥16,500 per person and includes a night at the hotel, breakfast and entrance to the observation deck from 8pm-10pm and 5am-7am.
Make a reservation now through the hotel’s official website.
