Doggy Day Trip to Koma, Saitama

The pet-loving Animal Walk Tokyo community invites you to join them on a fun weekend excursion with your pooch. Head over to Ikebukuro Station with your canine companion in tow and catch the train to Koma, Saitama with the rest of the pack. After alighting at the foothills of the Chichibu mountains, fill up on special organic grub courtesy of Alishan Café and explore the surrounding meadows, rivers and mountains with your dog. The trip costs ¥4,500, which includes travel, lunch and a goody bag containing a 2017 ARK (Animal Refuge Kansai) wall calendar. There's a ¥500 discount for participants with rescue dogs and members of any Japan-based animal shelter. Simply present the printable voucher found on the event page along with the adoption certificate or membership card on the day. 15 percent of the participation fee will be donated to ARK, so you'll be advancing a good cause if you decide to tag along – which can be done even if you don’t have a furry friend to accompany you.
