Time Out says

Glamping (glamorous camping, of course) appears to be the hot new thing among Tokyo's moneyed trendsetters this summer: recent months have seen scores of events showing off tents, barbecues and other outdoorsy equipment fit for celebrities, while so-called glamping resorts are opening all across Japan at a wild pace. You can now get a taste of this economic indicator-defying action right in the heart of the city, as celebrity chef Hal Yamashita puts on a series of 'glamping dinners' on the roof of Shinjuku's Newoman. Participants get to pick out their favourite ingredients from a selection of farm-to-table produce, and then cook a meal for themselves – with the assistance of professional chefs, of course. Should make for quite a fun September evening, of course provided you're willing to fork out ¥12,000 for the pleasure. Bookings can be made here.
