Discover the world of competitive fingerpicking, the difficult-to-master technique of playing guitar by plucking the strings directly with the fingertips as opposed to using a pick. Fingerpicking Day 2026, held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse 1's third-floor events hall on March 28, will kick off with the final of the national fingerpicking contest, featuring 20 fingerstyle virtuosos who qualified from Japan and around the world. In addition to showcasing emerging greats, the event will include a special live performance by acoustic fingerstyle greats Seiji Igusa, Tokio Uchida, Rynten Okazaki and Kenta Yago.
