Tokyo Tower is opening its doors for the public to see the sunrise from its top deck, 250m high in the sky, but there’s a catch: only 33 people can make the climb. You’ll have to pay ¥30,000 in advance via Tokyo Tower’s ticketing page.
Not to worry if you can’t get your hands on these exclusive tickets; 300 more people will be allowed on the two main decks at 145m and 150m high respectively. These tickets cost between ¥6,000 and ¥12,000 each depending on whether you want standing or reserved seats. Numbers are strictly limited, so be quick.
Admittedly, ticket prices are pretty steep compared to Tokyo Tower’s regular admission fees, but every visitor will receive a commemorative medal, shuin (seal stamp from a temple or shrine), an opportunity to try out two New Year’s attractions, sip on tea from Club 333, receive a ticket to the Taiwan Festival happening on ground level, and a lucky bag filled with goodies.
