Come gather at Roppongi Hills arena for the Fukushima Festival, where you can feast on the prefecture's popular dishes such as grilled seafood and noodles, as well as its local wine, beer and sake. Located about two hours away from Tokyo by flight, Fukushima is one of the hardest hit areas during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, but it's now on the fast track to recovery. As such, the festival aims to provide a taster of this beautiful region, showcasing its resilience as well as beauty as a tourist destination.

Aside from the food and drink, the main stage will be hosting performances by artists from Fukushima, including bonobos, Rag Fair and Miyu Tsubuki. The event will also offer a few family-friendly activities like painting your own Akabeko (a legendary bovine originated from the Aizu region) wooden figure. Expect large crowds in the evening, so come early to avoid long queues.
