Game On

'How do computer games work?' 'Why do we become so addicted to them?' 'What tricks do developers use?' These burning questions will all be answered at this special exhibition at Miraikan, where you can learn the evolution of computer games. You'll also get to play over 120 'masterpiece' computer games, grouped into sections that take you through the history of the games – from precious gaming equipment and titles like Space Invaders to video game consoles and characters that have fascinated the world, to smartphone games and future tech. Make sure you buy an extra ticket to play the one and only PlayStation VR, a brand-new virtual reality game in which you wear a visor-style headset and enter a truly mind-bending world.

Quite a small venue. Very crowded on the weekend. A lot of small children. VR tickets are out very fast. Not an exhibition at all - only arcade machines and some other games. Tickets can be bought for slightly cheaper at convenience store Lawson's Loppi machines for 2 adults (Lコード 39996 大人ペアチケット for 2600 yen instead of 1500 yen each) which also includes access into Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation)
