Gloken Special Kendama Festa at Odakyu

Kendama, the Japanese ring-and-pin game that's garnered quite a bit of worldwide interest in recent years, is the focus of attention at this weekend fair taking place at the Odakyu department store in Shinjuku. A pop-up shop selling around 100 different kinds of kendama along with various accessories and T-shirts will be set up in the basement, while performances by world-class players from the US, Canada and Denmark will take place at the first-floor stage on September 14 and 15. Local kendama unit Zoomadanke will also be making an appearance, while visitors can try the game for themselves in the open contests.
