UPDATE: Due to bird flu fears, the falconry performance has unfortunately been cancelled for this year. The rest of the programme will take place as planned.
Once a hunting ground for the Tokugawa shogunate, the Hamarikyu Garden again hosts this annual falconry performance that allows visitors to witness Edo-era animal artistry under the open sky. The programme also includes hanetsuki – a badminton-esque game popular among girls during the Edo era – and koma mawashi top spinning, while food stalls hawk amazake and soup and guided tours of the park take place.
