Can't afford an island vacation this summer? Not to worry – just ride the Keiyo line from Tokyo Station to Maihama instead and hop on the free shuttle bus, which will take you to the Hilton Tokyo Bay and its poolside beer garden. Spread out around the hotel's Garden Pool, it's the perfect spot for some laidback weekend sipping and has none of the crowds, department-store atmosphere or outrageous prices found at some of the city's more renowned pop-up boozers. ¥2,950 gets you two hours of free-flowing beer, wine and cocktails, while anyone wearing a yukata will be offered an extra special cocktail (or some cosmetics samples, if that's what you prefer) at no extra cost. On Fridays and weekends, DJ tunes complete the resort atmosphere.
Note that prices do not include tax and service. The beer garden is closed July 21, 23, 30 and 31, as well as August 20.
