Home to nearly 10,000 dolls from all over the world, the Yokohama Doll Museum now shines the spotlight on hina dolls from as far back as the Edo era. Displayed in elaborate arrangements for Hinamatsuri (aka Girls' Day) on March 3, these vividly coloured, hand-crafted dolls are exhibited alongside hanging tsurushi decorations, which are coming back into vogue as home décor accessories. When visiting, don't miss the 'modern hina', a collection of very contemporary dolls made by up-and-coming Japanese artists.
