Attracting around 600,000 visitors, the Hokkaido Fair is returning to Yoyogi Park with numerous booths offering fresh seafood and crowd-pleasing dishes from the northern prefecture. Treat yourself to a bowl of miso ramen, delicious kaisendon (sashimi rice bowl), uni (sea urchin) and ikura (salmon roe) over rice, and Hokkaido-style ‘zangi’ karaage fried chicken, just to name a few. Make sure to get Hokkaido’s famed melon desserts to complete your meal.
This year, early visitors will be able to purchase a number of dishes at a steep discount. Some of these dishes, which are normally priced at more than ¥1,000, are going for as low as ¥500. This special deal has limited quantities and is avaiable from selected food vendors.
There will also be entertainment like Yosakoi dance performances as well as live music from artists including Saki & Bebe and Miho Asai.
