Hawaii won’t be hosting its annual Hapalua half-marathon along the beautiful beaches of Waikiki this year due to Covid-19, but the race is still on. It’s going virtual, meaning you’ll be able to participate from anywhere in the world – just pay the registration fee and record your time.
Though the 21.1km race (¥8,500) is most popular, the event also offers 10km (¥8,500) and 5km (¥8,500) courses too. Elite runners who want to do multiple races can purchase a set deal (from ¥12,500), which gets you a ¥4,500 discount for two, and a ¥9,500 discount for all three races.
If you don’t feel confident in completing a half-marathon, fear not – there’s a multi-day option, which allows you to cover the distance over multiple days during the designated time frame. You’ll need to complete the race and submit screenshots from your running app as proof from April 1 at 12pm to May 7 at 6.59pm. Once your accomplishments have been verified, you’ll receive a medal, a T-shirt and digital certificate in a few weeks’ time.
