Always wanted to see the Northern Lights? You can catch Tokyo’s own version at Hotel Chinzanso this winter. The hotel’s spectacular garden is lit up with beautiful lights designed to layer over each other, creating a perfect colour gradation, like a giant aurora curtain swaying above your head. The garden’s famous ‘sea of clouds’ will also be hovering among the trees, and the special nature sounds installed will make for an immersive experience that’ll have you believing you’re in Norway.
You’ll get to see the magnificent sight of the Forest Aurora every thirty minutes from 7pm to 10pm daily. While anyone is allowed to visit the garden for free, there are plenty of perks for hotel guests, including a private tour of the garden after hours, rooms that overlook the garden, and even aurora-themed meals at the hotel restaurants.
