Japan is said to be home to myriad of kami (gods or spirits), and Izumo Oyashiro Grand Shrine is where they all get together once every year. The magnificent Kamiari Sai ('Festival of the gods'), held in the tenth month of the lunar calendar, is always thronging with visitors, who come from all over Japan to seek divine favour.
