This exhibition organised by the Japan Amateur Orchid Society is a great place to visit if you want to add to your houseplant collection. Otherwise, just enjoy browsing the display of beautiful flowers in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City.
You can take a look at a selection of planted orchids displayed by the Japan Orchid Growers Association. There’ll also be a ‘fragrance exhibition’, with orchids arranged depending on the intensity of their fragrance. You can purchase orchids to take home, too.
If you want to get more active, it’s possible to join an orchid-planting workshop on June 10 at 11am and 2pm. It costs ¥500 to enter and you can take your orchid home with you at the end of the session.
The event takes place from 10am to 6pm everyday except on June 11, when it will end at 4.30pm.
