Time Out says

The opening party to this year’s Japanese Curry Festival takes place on the fourth floor of the Cocoti Shibuya shopping mall. Here you can sample a variety of dishes from the Japanese Curry Award-winning restaurants including Tarikaro from Tokyo’s Nishi-Ogikubo neighbourhood, Toi Inshokuten from Nara, Spice Curry 43 from Osaka and the Curry Dining Bar Emu from Fukushima.

You’ll also get to learn about the evolution of Japanese curry as well as its correlation with Japanese culture via talks (in Japanese only) by the event organisers and experts in the industry.

A ticket to the opening event costs ¥2,000; it includes one free curry dish. You can purchase tickets in advance here and choose among three time slots: 11am, 2.30pm and 6pm.
