Time Out says

After a short hiatus over the pandemic, Kabukicho’s Bon Odori festival is making a comeback. It’s held at Cine City Square, right in front of Shinjuku’s brand new entertainment complex Tokyu Kabukicho Tower.

The event is led by Ageha Bijo, a producer of Bon Odori dances across Japan. There’s no need to feel intimidated if this is your first Bon Odori. Ageha will give you a step-by-step guide on how to perform the Bon dance – not just the classic Bon Odori but also a modernised version with pop songs as well. Japanese drum idol group Tokyo Otome Taiko will contribute to the festivities with a taiko drum performance.

The event is free, so put on your best yukata and come join in!
