Time Out says

In Kagoshima, you don't start an evening at the izakaya with a beer – you start and end with shochu. With a whopping 113 distilleries in the region that gave birth to Japan's other indigenous spirit, the origins of which date back at least 500 years, there's never a shortage of variety when it comes to Kagoshima shochu. Explore that diversity in detail at Shinagawa's Prince Hotel, where around 500 kinds of booze from 72 distilleries can be savoured and combined with all-you-can-eat edibles like black pork, satsuma-age and other local delicacies. The ¥6,000 entrance fee includes unlimited food and drink, plus entry into a raffle that could see you win – you guessed it – giant bottles of shochu.
