Kanda Myojin Noryo Matsuri

We're not quite sure why the venerable Kanda Shrine hasn't had its own Obon festival in the past, but that curious flaw will now nevertheless be corrected: the first-ever Noryo Matsuri takes place over four August days and is set to feature everything from bon odori dancing and the obligatory matsuri grub to idol gigs and even a miniature craft brew fest headlined by Sumida's own Virgo Beer. The bon odori takes place between 6pm and 9pm from August 12 to 14, but will be cancelled in case of rain.
