Time Out says

Launched in 2011, the Kohgen event stages a wide range of workshops related to traditional Japanese culture and religion, from Noh theatre experiences to classes for calligraphy and zazen meditation. Powering up even further for this year, its 2016 edition will take place during Golden Week at Kanda Shrine and all over the Nihonbashi area, in addition to the usual happenings at Zojoji Temple.

While you wait for the main event, here's an excellent chance to get a preview of things to come: the third edition of our 'Kohgen Lounge' series is themed on incense, which made its way to Japan together with Buddhism. Join us at Ebisu's Time Out Café & Diner, where incense expert Mamiko Imai and one of the monks behind Kohgen will be discussing the historical origins, uses and attributes of incense in Japan. After the talk, participants will be invited to create their own incense – the all-natural materials will be provided by Imai herself. Although the presentations are conducted in Japanese, English interpretation is also available.
