Marunouchi Fashion Week is back this year featuring numerous runway shows over 17 days. The first day (March 15) kicks with the Future Designer Collection, a runway show displaying works by aspiring fashion designers from 20 fashion schools in Japan, followed by the Kimono Project, showcasing a variety of kimono and obi sashes made from fabric donated for the event. The fashion shows on the 40-metre-long runway will be outdoors along Marunouchi-dori, and are completely free to attend. However, if you’d rather avoid the crowds, you can watch the live-streamed version on Marunouchi Dotcom Channel’s official YouTube page.
From Marunouchi-dori, walk north to Otemachi-dori to see the street lit up with pink spring-themed displays from March 15 to 19 between 10am and 10pm. Don’t forget to pay a visit to Marucube inside the Marunouchi Building, where you’ll see artworks by fashion brand Heralbony, which works with artists with disabilities nationwide.
