If you’re looking for the perfect place to pick up some chocolate before a Marunouchi dinner date – or an excuse to stock up on treats if you’re spending Valentine’s Day solo – this is it. The Marunouchi Building in front of Tokyo Station is hosting a chocolate sweets market featuring 17 stores in the first-floor Maru Cube atrium from February 6 to 14, and again for White Day from March 10 to 14. The line-up includes renowned Austrian pastry shop and chocolaterie Demel; Cacaobroma from Tohoku’s disaster-torn Rikuzentakata; Istanbul-based hotel chocolatier Divan, known for its Dubai chocolate; Kyoto-born wagashi confectionery shop Komu; Belgian chocolatier Benoit Nihant and many more.
While you’re there, stop by Marunouchi Happ. Stand & Gallery for a collaboration pop-up between UCC Ueshima Coffee Co and six of the brands exhibiting at the chocolate market. At 1 Chocolate & 1 Drip, you can sample the treats on offer together with a carefully selected brew of drip coffee that best pairs with each sweet.
