Time Out says

Mimosa Festa 2022 will be offering exciting online and offline events to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8. In Italy, the date is also known as Mimosa Day because the bright yellow mimosa flowers that bloom in March symbolise the arrival of spring, and are given to females to express solidarity.

This year’s event will feature a Mimosa Fair organised by La Cittadella mall, featuring multiple shops offering mimosa inspired food and drinks including a matcha tiramisu (¥1,848; set ¥2,178) by Pizza Salvatore Cuomo & Grill, and a kakigori shaved ice parfait (¥1,800) packed with fruit from Shirokumado. If you purchase any of these special items, you’ll receive an exclusive pouch or sticker as a gift.

Don’t miss the Mimosa Marche on Via Cinecitta Street, with 40 booths that will remind you of an outdoor market in Italy. You can find ethical and environmentally friendly goods, flowers, accessories and summery Italian cocktails like Aperol spritz and natural wine.

There is also plenty of entertainment to keep you busy at the fountain plaza, too. Enjoy a free concert by singer songwriter Sonoko Inoue, an hour-long yoga session with Mirei Saale, drinking mimosas with culinary expert Kazuki Kitahara or head to a talk session (in Japanese only) with former AKB48 member Tomomi Itano. All of these events will be happening on the weekend of March 5 and 6 at La Cittadella.

To top it off, you can participate in a photo contest on social media to win prizes like a dinner voucher for two at Italian restaurant Il Pacioccone Di Chianti, a small bottle of Joseph Perrier champagne, a DeLonghi toaster oven and kettle, gift vouchers and much more. All you need to do is follow La Cittadella on Twitter or Instagram, and post a photo of Mimosa Festa with the hashtag #ミモザフェスタ2022.

Can’t make it out to Kawasaki? No problem – you can still join in some of the online discussions (in Japanese only) on making ethical lifestyle choices.
