Shibuya Scramble Square is celebrating the 2024 new year with free sake at 11am on January 2 at its 12th-floor event space, Scene 12. This is followed by a live koto performance by Sayo Komada, as well as a Japanese calligraphy demonstration by Ukyou Kamigori.
The celebration continues over the weekend on January 6 and January 7, with free music events held at Scene 12. The Scramble Music Show’s New Year party will feature local DJs including Rocketman, DJ Kawasaki and DJ Kro, who will be spinning dance tunes from 2pm to 7pm. There will also be a pop-up shop with unique items from Kyoto like Fuuu Utsuwa ceramic, ornate Murayama Mokko lanterns, Hunter Spice condiments from a Michelin Bib-Gourmand restaurant, Entsu matcha, and more.
