Always offering a convenient way to sample a wide variety of domestic craft brews in one sitting, the Nippon Craft Beer Festival is happening again in Asakusa. More than 20 breweries, including a few guests from overseas, will be showing off over 40 kinds of beer at Sumida Riverside Hall. Keeping things in theme with the season, look out for special-release ‘sakura’ beers by Tazawako (Akita), Sankt Gallen (Kanagawa), Tsuyama Beer (Okayama), Aqula (Akita), where wild yeast from cherry blossoms is used in the brewing process for a floral beer. The grub selection tends to be pretty good at these fests, too, and there’s even live music and comedy.
