The November opening of the Ueno Frontier Tower just south of Okachimachi Station has brought some action back to a neighbourhood that hasn't exactly been attracting many trend-conscious Tokyoites in recent years. That rejuvenation includes this 300m² rink, which actually doesn't use any real water – its surface is made entirely out of artificial Xtraice material. And considering the location, it's hardly surprising that the rental helmets and gloves here are decorated with panda imagery.
Note that last entry to the rink is at 8pm, and that there's a one-hour time limit on weekends and holidays.
