Located within the vast Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park, Okutama Cemetery is a stunningly beautiful, foresty area that also hosts over 700 cherry trees. Due to the altitude and inland location, sakura here burst into bloom slightly later than in central Tokyo. This festival features not only blossom-viewing but also a variety of stalls selling local food such as grilled fish and mushrooms, as well as taiko drum and other traditional music performances.
