As far as indoor illumination shows in Tokyo go, this one at Omotesando Hills ranks among the more impressive, highlighted by a 10-metre-tall Christmas tree made of over a thousand sparkling prisms and orbited by dancing rings of light. The stunning installation, displayed in front of the central staircase in the middle of the complex, is the creation of Emission, an art studio led by Takahiro Matsuo, an acclaimed art director specialising in prism art installations.
Around the tree is Matsuo’s Kinetic Light Vision (KLV), a ring of 48 spheres that move in sync with the music to create a striking light show of dancing rings with the Prism Tree. First unveiled at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, KLV drew major attention and won the Gold Award in the Entertainment Space category at the Japan Space Design Awards.
Don't miss the special 3-minute light-up show held every 20 minutes from 11.20am to 10.20pm.
