Time Out says

This year marks seven decades since Osamu Tezuka started Astro Boy, one of Japan's most iconic manga characters and an enduring cultural symbol. Odakyu Department Store in Shinjuku is holding an exclusive print exhibition of Tezuka’s original drawings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the manga, from August 11 to 17.

About 40 prints based on original Astro Boy art by Tezuka will be available for purchase, including ‘Kimba the White Lion,’ ‘Princess Knight,’ and ‘Black Jack.’ Aside from the prints, you will also get to see an ink painting by Junji Kobayashi, one of Tezuka’s proteges who worked on the Astro Boy anime, which is also available for purchase.

Another section of the exhibition will feature prints of Shotaro Ishinomori’s works – another notable mangaka who was mentored by Tezuka. There will be around 15 prints from Ishinomori’s most famous works, including Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009.

The exhibition is free and will take place in the art gallery and salon on the 10th floor of Odakyu Department Store.
