Japan and Pakistan celebrate 60 years of diplomatic ties this weekend with a two-day festival that takes inclusiveness to new heights. The 'Mr. Handsome Pakistan' contest being held on Saturday afternoon isn't restricted to natives of the Islamic Republic: Japanese guys are also welcome to take part, provided that they're appropriately garbed. That isn't the only bizarre touch, either – in between the performances of qawwali, Mughal court dancing and Pakistani handmade footballs, you can also look forward to appearances by wrestler Antonio Inoki and singer Yukihide Takekawa. A 'Cute Pakistani' kids' pageant and 'Dancing King of Pakistan' contest keep things competitive on the Sunday afternoon, and there'll also be a food court and a small selection of stalls selling handicrafts; if you stray over to the nearby Keyaki Namiki road, there's a small Thai-themed festival going on throughout the weekend.
