This family-friendly Christmas event at Sanrio Puroland in Tama features a new illumination show called Snowdome Lights, where thousands of colourful lights create a dazzling display. Kids will love the greeting events with popular Sanrio characters dressed up in adorable winter outfits, however, you’ll need to purchase a special ticket (¥3,000; valid for a group of four) to participate. The characters available change each day, so check the schedule (in Japanese only) to find out when your favourites will make an appearance.
Don’t miss the Puro Christmas show, a heartwarming Christmas-themed musical featuring Hello Kitty and her friends. Again, you’ll need a special ticket starting from ¥1,000. Foodies shouldn’t miss the ‘Kitty and Daniel Party Party Christmas’ event, where you can enjoy a buffet-style meal while watching live dance and music performances by the furry couple, followed by a photo session. Note that the party event is limited to four days only (December 11, 12,18 and 19) and you’ll need to make a separate reservation.
Besides plenty of Christmas-themed photo spots, you can also shop for seasonal souvenirs and fuel up on adorable character-themed dishes at the on-site restaurants. Note that tickets to Sanrio Puroland have to be booked in advance.
