Although we're obviously hoping Tokyo won't be hit by any more natural disasters in the years to come, it still pays to be both mentally and practically prepared. Raising awareness of extreme situations and providing basic survival knowledge are the admirable goals of this two-day disaster preparedness festival taking place in Yoyogi Park, where participants can learn how to fend for themselves if and when worst comes to worst. You can also sample emergency rations and get acquainted with all sorts of handy equipment, plus attend a range of educational workshops and talks (mainly in Japanese, natch).
