Tanegashima

Part of the Osumi island chain in Kyushu's Kagoshima prefecture, Tanegashima is Japan's answer to Cape Canaveral. The island hosts JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center and its associated launch complexes, from which Japanese satellites and rockets are launched into space.
